Special children have countless problems and their parents face various difficulties in the society. This study is focused on the problems of the parents of mentally retarded children and was conducted on four sixty-four cases to find out the problems and effects faced by the parents of mentally retarded children. After statistical analysis of the data was concluded, it was proved that: Parents' monthly income has association with the number of mentally retarded children, which affects the economic condition of the family. Participation in social rituals has some association with the severity and level of child mental retardation. It was also concluded that the parents of mentally retarded children have various health problems like heart disease, depression, diabetes etc. Parent's marital relationship has some association with the severity of the child's mental retardation as well.
